Sam Rosenblatt
Artist. Lyricist. Educator. Theatre-Maker.
“If you are a dreamer, come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hoper, a pray-er, a magic-bean-buyer,
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax golden tales to spin!
Come in!
Come in!”
― Shel Silverstein

Updates
Little Love Notes from Collard & Rosenblatt
Sam and Elspeth Collard released their first album, entitled Little Love Notes from Collard & Rosenblatt on March 14th! They kicked off the weekend with a spectacular launch party produced by 10glo.com and hosted by Noah Mutterperl. The party, held virtually on Zoom, included fun facts and behind-the-scenes stories, with guest appearances by many of the performers. Little Love Notes features 15 original Collard & Rosenblatt songs, with performances by twenty-nine performers! It's now streaming on all music platforms. Bios for the performers can be found here.
Change the Game
Sam and long-time collaborator, Elspeth Collard, released a new song entitled "Change the Game", celebrating women in the theatre industry! "Change the Game" was performed by Broadway veteran and activist, Isabelle McCalla, along with a choir of sixteen women and a band of 4. Sam and Elspeth even jumped into the choir themselves! The song jumpstarted their week-long fundraiser for Maestra Music, an incredible organization that helps the unseen heroes of the Broadway community: the women who work as music directors, composers, instrumentalists, and more! Check out "Change the Game" and Maestra today!
The Girl with the Rose-Colored Eyes
Sam is thrilled to be back at the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU Tisch as an alumni collaborator. She, along with Elspeth Collard (another alumnus of the program), will be writing a full-length musical with current student, Amber Delaluz. Their musical, The Girl with the Rose-Colored Eyes, is a loose adaptation of Coppelia that takes place in 1968 San Francisco during the second-wave of feminism and civil-rights protest. Featuring a cast of six powerful women, this "in development" musical will culminate in a Zoom table-read in April of 2021.

Graduation from NYU Tisch, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program
Sam just graduated from NYU Tisch, earning her MFA in the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program as a lyricist. To qualify for this degree, Sam wrote book and lyrics for a full length musical, Night Witches, with composer/co-bookwriter, Stephen Wagener Bennett. While they did not receive a 29 hour reading through their program due to COVID-19, the pair had a Zoom table-read and also had a song featured in the end of year cabaret for their cycle. Sam is a proud double-NYU alum and can't wait to see what the future holds!
